Canon Introduces First DSLR with "Touchscreen"

Touch screen facilities normally only found in digital cameras consumer class. Now, through the camera EOS 650D series which was introduced on Friday (06/08/2012), Canon brings these features to the camera kind of digital single lens reflex or DSLR for the first time.



Touchscreen input support on the camera aimed at novice users raises a number of features that were previously only available in a pocket or mirrorless cameras, such as the selection area auto-focus (AF) or by setting the settings on the touch screen.

The touchscreen is capable of recognizing gesture input device commonly found on smartphones or tablets, such as image zooming and swiping with your finger to navigate photos. 
Additionally, the EOS 650D touch screen measuring 3 inches also has a flexible hinge that can be rotated to the outside (articulated screen) for easy image capture with a difficult angle.

Along with the EOS 650, Canon introduced two new types of lenses, the EF-s zoom lens 18-135 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS lens STM and EF 40 mm f/2.8 pancake STM. AF motor type Stepping Motor (STM) used both lenses is claimed to make no noise when recording video when used with the EOS 650D.
